Shifting Landscapes with Pippita
August 26 @ 10:30 am - 3:30 pm
Create a beautiful and personal piece for your home. A workshop for those with many years sewing experience and all those new to the craft.
In this workshop we will explore ‘landscape’ as a metaphor for our inner selves. The earth’s landscape is constantly in flux from shifting tectonic plates the effects of water, wind and sun and the changing climate. What affects our inner landscapes? There are changes brought on by loss or gain, or those that happen more slowly like ageing. What heals the earth and what heals our hurts? We will explore these themes through stitch; letting our needle embellish and traverse folds of fabric. We will create a beautiful centre piece or placemat for a table. This workshop is for all abilities.
Pippita Bennett is an artist living on Dharug and Gundungurra Country. She explores idea of connection to place through stitched landscapes using plant dyed fabrics and threads.
